On Saturday, 5/13/17 Phacil Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) committee organized an event with SOME (So Others Might Eat) in Washington, DC. Phacil employees and family members volunteered at SOME’s dining room to serve a warm and nutritious meal to people in need. Phacil volunteered for both breakfast and lunch shifts. Each shift serves an average of 375 guests, so both shifts served a total of 750 guests. This event made a positive impact and helped those in need restore hope and dignity. So Others Might Eat is a nonprofit organization which seeks to help deal with poverty in Washington, D.C.. SOME provides food, clothing, and healthcare services to the poor and homeless. In addition, SOME provides job training, counselling, and low-cost housing, and other services to "break the cycle of homelessness."
